The Trips Memorial event is being held in 2012 for the seventh time. The "RACING LEGENDS" will once again be taking to the circuit, while the "JEWELS IN THE PARK" Concours d´Elegance – defined by FIVA as a top-level "A-EVENT" and taking place in the castle park and near the Orangery – will once again set the benchmark for automotive coachbuilding across the whole of Europe. A vast garden party with picnic, jazz music, and a cavalcade of vehicles through time provides an atmospheric backdrop to welcome visitors into the world of classic cars.  
Numerous museum vehicles will be among the Racing Legends taking to the circuit, while a display of vehicles over the years will be arrayed on the lawns in front of the castle – the look and feel of the good old days will truly be celebrated and experienced here to the full.

75 years ago – from spring 1937: the Mercedes-Benz W 125 became the brand's Formula racing car for the 1937 motorsport season. It proved extremely successful in enabling Rudolf Caracciola to pick up the title of European Champion, a feat comparable to winning the World Championship by today's standards.

A new simulation game for green cities is to go online on 15 December 2011 under the title “GreenSight City”. This game, jointly developed by Daimler AG and Zone 2 Connect GmbH (Meerbusch) is an urban-planning simulation that focuses particularly on the issues of mobility, renewable energy sources and innovative technologies. The task set the players is to transform a small town into a flourishing “green” metropolis and thus attract as many tourists as possible. For this to happen, different tasks and missions have to be accomplished successfully. From game level to game level the city grows, and thus the amount of tourists and traffic as well, making it necessary to find environmentally-friendly, sustainable solutions using the different mobility concepts made available to the players. At the same time, the players have to be careful not to allow their city to become unattractive due to increasing environmental pollution.

Stuttgart – “Mercedes-Benz Renn- und Sportwagen seit 1894” (Mercedes-Benz Racing Cars and Sports Cars since 1894) is the title of the latest book documenting the vehicle history of the brand with the three-pointed star. Written by automotive historian Günter Engelen, it is the latest in a series of standard works by the author on Mercedes-Benz. Published by Motorbuch Verlag, Stuttgart, the reference work contains 680 richly-illustrated pages and costs 69 euros.
